DAY 272: Keeping Step

"And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by he turned in thither to eat bread."
2 Kings 4:8
A certain woman of great wealth and worth saw Elisha traveling by one day and somehow (the Bible does not say) knew he was a man of God. So she invited him to eat bread for his substance and he returned there often. This is what I call walking in a rhythm, or in the timing, of God. She was there at the right time for the prophet.
This Shunammite woman was operating in the perception of God's providence and did not evaluate her decision by the circumstances of life. She gave to the man of God to sow for her future - she wanted a child.
The prophet gave her a word, and she conceived "according to the time of life," (4:17). If you want doors of opportunity to open for you, you need to release what you have to open the windows of heaven.
What you make happen for someone else, God will make happen for you.
You cannot let others predict what you will do. "For what if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?" (Romans 3:3). What are you doing to stay in step? Don't hesitate. Delay means denial.
"If you are 100 paces away from God, and you take 1 step, He will take 99 to meet you."
