9 Si admitimos [libremente] que hemos pecado yconfesamos nuestros pecados, Él es fiel y justo [fiel a su propia naturaleza y promesas], y perdonará nuestros pecados y nos limpiará continuamente de toda injusticia [todo nuestro mal, todo no en conformidad con su voluntad y propósito]. 10 Si decimos que no hemos pecado [rehusándonos a admitir actos de pecado], lo hacemos [parecer ser] un mentiroso [al contradecirlo] y su palabra no está en nosotros.
